Makanchi infrasound array (MKIAR) is located at Urdzhar region of the East Kazakhstan area, 25 km eastward of Makanchi settlement; the array elements are inside Makanchi seismic array exceeding it by aperture. The station was constructed by the IGR together with AFTAC in 2016; the KNDC archive has the station’s data from August 2016.
The infrasound sensors, microbarometers Chaparral Physics Model 25 and digitizers AIM24S, are installed in the bunkers. In total, there are nine such equipment vaults. As for the configuration, the central station is surrounded by 4 stations, and 5 other stations are installed along a large circle. The wind interference suppression devices are connected to the microbarometers inputs. The sample rate is 40 samples/sec/channel. Timing scale is GPS. Infrasound data are transmitted to the Center Processing Facility via radio modems – a repeater is used. After that the information is transmitted to the CAPSSI via the satellite channel. And from Almaty the data of Makanchi infrasound array are transmitted to the National Data Centre of the USA (USNDC) in Florida (USA).

Configuration of Makanchi infrasound station (MKIAR):
KASK seismic station started its operation on July 29, 2016 on the territory of “Kaskelen” Geophysical Observatory located at Kaskelen township, in the vicinity of Almaty city. The sensor is accelerometer CMG-5TC. Data is digitized by the recorder CMG-DM24. The information is accumulated on a computer (currently it is a single-board mini-computer) with SCREAM software. Mini-computer is connected to the Internet network. There is an opportunity to take data in real time from any place, just entering the station computer. For reliable operation of the station all elements are powered from the battery charged by a solar panel.

A primary infrasound station of the International Monitoring System (IMS) CTBTO “Aktyubinsk” IS31 (IS31KZ) is located at Tassay settlement of Chromtayu region, Aktyubinsk area. The station was constructed in 2001, the KNDC archive has the station’s data from December 2003.
The detailed information can be found at: https://www.kndc.kz/kndc/docs/publication/2002_3.pdf
Until the fall of 2019 the infrasound sensors – microbarometers МВ2000 together with Aubrac digitizers were installed in the bunkers. In total, there were eight such equipment vaults. Systems H and L differed by device construction for wind interference suppression. In the fall of 2019 there was thorough upgrade of the station. Another ninth element was added, the wind suppression systems were unified. The microbarometers were replaced with MB-3. The meteorological station was installed at the station. The sample rate is 20 samples/sec/channel. Time scale is GPS. Infrasound data are transferred to the Center Processing Facility via fiber optic lines , and then together with seismic data of AKTO station to the IDC via a satellite channel.

Configuration of “Aktyubinsk” infrasound station (IS31, I31KZ):
A new seismic station BORK started its operation on August 22, 2019.
From 1994 near this station there was BRVK station. The information on BRVK station is available at http://ds.iris.edu/mda/II/BRVK/?starttime=1994-09-01T00:00:00&endtime=2019-08-21T23:59:59.
BORK seismic station of the global IRIS/IDA stations network is located at “Byurabay” settlement of Byurabay region, Akmola area. “Borovoye” seismic station is located within Borovoye intrusive massif of alaskitic granites of late Silurian – early Devon period breaking formations of Archean, upper Riphean and Cambrian periods.
Seismic sensors of the station – STS-5, STS-6 are installed in the wells located in the equipment vaults. The wells depth is 40 meters for STS-6, and 10 meters for STS-5. The accelerometer Episensor ES-T is rigidly tightened to the concrete floor of the equipment vault. The recording instruments - 26-bit ADC (for seismometers) and 24-bit ADC for the accelerometer Quanterra Q330HR are installed near the sensors. Sample rate: 40 samples/sec/channel for seismic channels, and 100 samples/sec/channel for the accelerometer. The accelerometer operates in gated mode. Time scaling is GPS. All equipment is installed in the equipment vault. Internet connection is through the DSL modems. For this purpose, there is a cable laid between the equipment vault and administrative building (~650 m).

PDGK seismic station installed under the CAREMON Project and put into operation in 2010 is located on the skirts of Kyrgyzsay settlement (Podgornoye) of Uygur region, Almaty area. The equipment vault in which seismic sensors and recording equipment are installed is constructed on bedrock exposure at selvedge of minor subvolcanic intrusion of trachyte-liparite – trachyte-dacite composition of upper Paleozoic age (τλPZ3) with 1x2 km size.
Topographic map of PDGK station location:
The seismic sensors of the station: Trilliun Compact 120 Sec and accelerometer Titan are installed on a pedestal in the equipment vault. Recording instruments: 24-bit ADC Centaur (6 channels) is installed near the sensors. Sample rate: 40 samples/sec/channel for all channels. Timing scale is GPS. Seismic data are transmitted from Centaur output to the satellite modem through the local network. At the same time there is an opportunity to accumulate data on a CD memory card.
