“Kurchatov” seismic station (KURK) of IRIS/IDA network

KURK seismic station of the global IRIS/IDA stations network is located near Kurchatov town at East-Kazakhstan area. The equipment vault is in alluvial-proluvial sand and rubbly-pebble sediments of Quaternary period apQIV.

Seismic sensors of the station - STS1, STS2 and accelerometer FBA23 are installed in a shaft of 25 m depth. Recording instruments - 26-bit ADC (for seismometers) and 24-bit ADC for accelerometer Quanterra Q330HR are installed near the sensors. Sample rate: 20 samples/sec/channel for STS1 channels, 40 samples/sec/channel for STS2 channels, and 100 samples/sec/channel for accelerometer. The accelerometer operates in gated mode. Seismic data are digitized according to GPS.

Response and phase characteristics of the installed seismometers are here.
