Aktyubinsk seismic station is located in the North-West of Kazakhstan. In 1994 it was passed to the Institute of Geophysical Research NNC RK. A DAS Reftek station with STS-2 seismometer, which was later replaced with CMG-3ESP seismometer, was installed there in the same 1994 according to JSP program. This configuration is used till present.

The sensor is installed on the basement in an equipment vault at the depth of 5 meters. The basement is installed on base habbro-amphibolite rock.

The equipment operates in autonomous mode. Seismic data are collected once in two months and sent to the Data Center in Almaty in mail.

In 1996 according to CTBTO protocol Aktyubinsk station was included in the list auxiliary seismic IMS stations. During the next years it will be re-equipped to meet IMS requirements.

The figure below shows the equipment operating at the station. One can see RT72A units on the table: DAS (data acquisition system) is located to the left and hard drive for storing data on the right. The seismometer is located on the basement on the right. To reduce the noise from air convection near the case, it is covered with additional casing.
